About the car:
The MG TF is a stylish compact convertible that was sold between 2002 and 2011. Being lightweight, having nearly-balanced weight distribution, and utilizing a mid-engine layout, the TF-160 was a very nimble convertible at a price more affordable than many of it's rivals. The MG TF was powered by the option of a 1.6-Liter Inline-4 with 114hp or three 1.8-Liter Inline-4 engines ranging from 118hp to 158hp. Equipped with the top of the line 158hp 1.8-Liter engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the TF-160 was quite a peppy little car with a top speed of 137mph and 0-60 times in 6.9 seconds.
Originally made in Longbridge, Birmingham, UK, production stopped in 2005 and then restarted in Pukou, Nanjing, China in 2007 after MG-Rover was bought out by the Nanjing Automotive Group. Production then restarted in Longbridge in 2008, but was stopped again there in October 2009 due to budget issues. The MG TF continued to be built in the Nanjing factory until the end of production in 2011.
